Custodian education is a vital part of Tufts recycling program. Custodians are responsible for collecting all the recycling from campus buildings, so it is important that they are well-informed about university recycling efforts.
Each year, all the custodians on each campus receive training on recycling and trash. In these annual education sessions they discuss why recycling is important, the role that the custodians play in the process, how and when to collect recycling, and what to do if various problems arise. All the educational material is in Spanish as well as in English.
