Summer compost collection sites reduced

During the summer, the Office of Sustainability coordinates with Facilities Services to reduce the number of outdoor compost toters located around campus and save the University money by not continuing regularly scheduled pick-ups for toters that aren’t full.

The compost bin locations on the Tufts Eco-Map have been updated with notes about which toters have been removed for the summer, so off-campus residents and staff offices that continue to generate compost over the summer months can know what active sites to bring their compost to.

Not to worry, the regular offering of outdoor compost toters will return with the rest of the students in the fall, and the changes will once again be updated on the Eco-Map. Thanks to everyone doing their part to make Tufts more sustainable and remaining dedicated to diverting organics waste to compost year-round!
